Miss Wings, I bought one of those card reader/writers for the
same reason. I did not trouble with the disk, and the moving of
files could not be easier. Just use the usual copy or cut and
paste of whatever files you want to put on the cards.
Additionally, I discovered that the same card reader works well
connected directly to the braillenote. So for some files I can
skip the computer entirely. I don't know exactly what the CD
supplied is supposed to do, but whatever it is , it is not
essential.

I just bought myself a card reader from Radio Shack so I'll be
able to use
it instead of having to go through the USB port for my Victor
Reader Stream
or through the serial port for my Braille Note. The only problem

didn't come with any instructions. It came with a small CD-Rom
disc that
I'm assuming goes into your CD drive on your computer, along with
a cord
that I'm guessing connects to your computer somehow. The only
thing is I'm
not sure if the disc is accessible and the cards go in the
reader. I can
see several slots on it, but I'll have to figure out how to
install the
driver that's supposedly on the CD and connecting it to the
computer. I
have some SD cards and a CF card, but I'll worry about where the
slots for
those are once I figure out how to use the reader! If I have to
I can use
the USB port on the computer for the Stream, even though it's
slow and
takes a long time just to put one book onto it, but I'd really
like to use
the reader for my Braille Note to avoid the hassle of having to
connect the
Braille Note to the computer and having to download Active Sync
and
installing it. A card reader would just go a lot faster, I
think. If
anyone could help with this I'd really appreciate it!
