OK, I thought this waas just a fluke but it has happened a
handful of times now. I would like to know if anyone else out
there is having this problem. I consistantly use Keynote Gold
for my speech on the BN. My unit is a QT 32 by the way. Every
so often, my speech will get all choppy. Instead of reading
smoothly,it will start breaking the words up into chunks and
saying them in a choppy manner or it will spell part of the word
and then say the rest . For instance, as I typed this, the BN
said the word "smoothly" as "s" and then "moothly" and also the
word "them" as "the" and then "m". These are just a couple of
examples. It is much worse than that. I noticed immediately
after upgrading to 7.5 that my speech sounded different somehow.
It wasn't doing inappropriate things like this but it was just
speaking in a choppier manner. It was fine until it started doing
what I describe above. A reset takes care of it and it doesn't
happen that often but there is obviously something wrong and it
is really irritating when it does happen. Does anyone know what
is going on? It seems to start doing this when I am using keyweb
most often. I am going to have to send my unit in tomorrow to
have that errant braille dot I mentioned a while back looked at
so maybe they can check on this problem too. It will be hard for
them to fix though if they can't make it happen. Kind of like
taking a car to the mechanic - it works just fine when it is
there. (grin) Thanks for any help or advice y'all can give.
Sincerely,
Nikki B.
