Hi Ian,

The "ed" followed by "p" is the format marker representing a newline. Here is something from a recent message on the list that might help.
And welcome to the list.

First open your keyword document. This process will only show the
correct options if you have a document already open.

Now, with the document open, go into the options menu with space o
or function o if you have a qt. Locate the braille options and
press enter.

Scroll through the options until you find one which says "show new
line" it probably says linear. You need to change this. For
example, you can press dot 1 (a on the qt) and each line will start with an indent of 1 cell. To see the other available options, enter the context-sensitive help when you're at the show line option and
you will see your choices.

Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] hello and some early questions

Hi, my name is Ian and I took delivery of my BN today. I opted
for it following an unsatisfactory experience with a PACMate., But I have the following questions having not been able to delve too deeply into the manual as yet.

1. Sometimes the Braille display simply drops off. This is
following a first full charge of the battery. Is there any reason for this?

Second. When in a Keyword doc if I press the enter key an ed
sign followed by a p appears on the screen. clearly this is a bit of formatting code. How do I turn it off please?

With best wishes.

Ian
