hi john and list. kevin and other pk users, feel free to correct me
here, i've never used a pk. anyway if i remember right, if you put a
pk braille display facing you, closer to you there are four slightly
recessed keys, referred as c1 through c4. c meaning control? anyway c4
is used to turn the pk on or off and combinations of other c keys with
c4 and, sometimes dots are resets. not sure if/what the other c keys
do by themselves. as far as the sevice reset, an analogy i got from
another lister: it is like, if you remember the old braille 'n speak,
doing a cold reset, which was i-chord or space with i at power on. on
the MPower it is like a hard boot; it disconnects the power and
reconnects after a few seconds. all the ram and clock settings are
restored to defaults. this is only recommended as a last resort, as
doing it at the wrong time could cause your unit to have to be sent
back for servicing. to do this, make sure the ac adapter is
connected!!! then press the reset and record buttons together and
release them after a second. if you have a braille display all the
dots will come up slightly for a few seconds, then they will drop and
your unit will beep, to confirm the reset. in about 10 seconds you
should here the starting music then keysoft should start and say the
clock needs setting. from this point you can either set it now or
press space with e and set it later.

hth!
