Hi Catherine,

I believe you are doing exactly what you should, but receiving incorrect results. I tried something similar on a database here and got the one expected record. I am on an mPower though and think you have a PK--but that really shouldn't be the problem. If you try searching for the wild card followed by a different word which only appears in one record, do you still get all the records?

Did you create that database?
What type of field is "book title"--I Çpresume text--wondered if it were note? Did you put any spaces in your query, like between the wild card character and "sculpture"? If you scroll through the database, (I.e., don't enter any query, just <enter> and keep doing <space>5-6), is the record you want first or last or just somewhere in the middle? I'm just asking to see if we can find a way of reproducing the problem. You might want to raise this officially with HW, and particularly if you are on the latest version, send them your database to see if they can get the problem. If you don't want them to see your data, try copying the definition file to another directory, make a new database from thet, copy all your records from the old database to the new. At this point you should have two databases--the old one you still want to use and the new one for testing. If the problem is still there on the new database, perhaps try deleting a number of records, leaving the one you initially searched for.

Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] Looking up records in Keybase help

Hi,

I'm trying to look up records in Keybase using the multiple
character
wildcard and getting unexpected results and am wondering if I'm
misunderstanding how to do it. I know I have an entry in this
database for
a book whose title is something about sculpture but I can't
remember exactly
what the title is. So I press space until I get to the field
"work title"
and type space with dots 3 5 and it says "multiple character wild
card";
then type sculpture and press enter. It then returns all the
records in the
database but all the others don't have sculpture in the title.
Am I
misunderstanding what to do?

Catherine
