I had this problem and resoled it by rebooting my WiFi modem.

Sometimes when I try to connect to the internet using the
wireless network card I get the message,
"new visible network". Then I am told to please wait. Nothing
else happens until I press the Escape key. Is there something I
am supposed to do with that New Visible Network? Where might it
be coming from?
