Hi, you can access the network just like you would any other drive. So if you want to open a document which is saved on your pc on the braillenote you can go into the word processor and when it asks for the drive space down and you will find network there. You need to know your computers name to access it. For example some names of my home PC's are sharon, glen, back computer, mum and dad. So if I want to access something on my dad's computer I go to the network and when it asks for network server I put in Dad. Then it asks for passwords and stuff but I just escaped from this and then answered No to the following message because I don't see the need for a password because if I loose this BN then I don't think anyone else will be really accessing my home wireless network with it and know what to do to access my other computers.

On your PC's end you need to look and see if you have folders shared, I'm not sure how to do this because my brother set it up a long time ago and he made it so that only the shared docs folder could be accessed from other computers. This way if someone else gets into your network they can't access everything on your PC and when you want to share something with the others on your network you just have to move the file into the shared doc folder.

I hope this helps get you started.

Subject: [Braillenote] an awesome find, networks

Hi list,
I was curious to see how much free space I had on my flash disk,
and then I got curious and went into file manager, and spaced
down through the options after going into directory, and after
keysoft system disk, I heard, network. I pressed space with i,
and was surprised to hear the help message that said I could
browse different computers that I had set up. Of course, I was
always aware that you could do this, but I do not remember seeing
this option in the directory menu before. It would be really
neat if I could set up a network between my bn and my pc in
another room and work on a file between them. Is this possible,
and if so, what do I need to know in order to get my braillenote
set up with my pc as a network place? By the way, I selected the
network option, and this prompted the message, network server? I
then pressed space, and since I did not have a server set up, it
went to the next item, domain to search? I was pleasantly
surprised because I did not know about the option to access
network plaaes in the directory menu. Is this the only way to
access the network places option, because I have not seen it
anywhere else, and just now have discovered it in the directory
menu.
Kerri
