Hi Sissy,

I know that this has to be something simple but I do not understand. How do I know whether i am using outlook or outlook express ect.

You're using something entirely different that is specific to the note taker.

I need to change my vn to support ssl but I do not
understand how to do it. I have dsl and am receiveing messages from yahoo that I need to change my email settings. I hope that someone can help me to understand.

Okay, assuming that you already have e-mail set up on your VN, here's what you do.

1. Open the Keymail menu and type s for setup.

2. In the Keymail setup menu, type d for directory of services.

3. In the Directory of Services menu, type l for lookup.

4. Find the record for your yahoo account. Usually just pressing the space bar once will get you there, if it's your only account.

5. If you're using a VN BT, press backspace with c to open the record for modification. I forget what you do for QT's.

6. Make sure that the pop server is set to pop.att.yahoo.com. This is the new secure pop server for yahoo accounts.

7. Press enter to get to the prompt which reads:
Secure connection for POP server?
Change the answer to yes and press Enter.

8. Make sure that the SMTP server is set to smtp.att.yahoo.com. This is the new secure smtp server for yahoo accounts.

9. Press enter to get to the prompt which reads:
Secure connection for SMTP server?
Make sure that this is set to yes, too.

10. If you haven't already, make sure that SMTP authentication is set to yes.

11. At the prompt that reads:
POP port
Enter the number 995.

12. At the prompt which reads:
SMTP port
Enter the number 465.

Now exit out as you normally would, and answer yes to the prompt to confirm changes.

That'll do it.
You should be good to go.

Hope this helps.

Give me a shout off-list if you're still having problems.

Tom
