Yes, but your previous message also presumed that note takers do not have
chat clients which is not correct.
Pack mate supports skype and pack mate is not the only note taker that
supports it.

Well, perhaps a bit harsh, but folks need to know what their equipment can
and cannot do before they buy it. If we are ever to get out from under
rehab who provides this equipment, we need to take responsibility for
knowing about our equipment. One of the primary things about a
BrailleNote is that it is a closed system, and you cannot run third party
programs on it unless, like the GPS it is specifically allowed by
Humanware. This is both one of the BrailleNote's selling points and a
major reason why those who like the alternative notetakers use to bash the
unit. This is something which all BrailleNote users should know and
understand.
