Dear Terry and list:

Here are the facts about transplanting/upgrading a BrailleNote
Classic as of 2008/05/05

Classic BrailleNote units with the following serial numbers or
below are no longer transplantable however they do have a
trade-up value:

BT32 cell 17,880
BT18 cell 17,881
QT 18 or 32 17,951
Trade-up path:
18 cell $1,400.00 trade-up credit
32 $2,200 trade-up credit
So for 18 cell you pay $2,995.00 as list is $4,395.00
For 32 cell $3,995.00 list is $6,995.00.

Assuming you are trading up from a unit with the same size
Braille display.

Note that some very late model Classics had KDS Braille displays
and their serial numbers are higher than the ones shown above and
they are still transplantable.

What is the value of a BrailleNote Classic on the private market?
Probably not more than the stated trade-up credits listed above.

The above info was obtained from Humanware USA. Please note that
in other countries prices may vary.

Please note that shipping charges are extra in all cases.
