I agree with what Brian has said regarding note takers.  I also want to
expand a bit on what Joseph was saying.

I work in an Adaptive Technology Center where we have all four of the
notetakers.  I can tell you that for all of them, not much has been
released about upgrades prior to the upgrade coming out on the market.
I remember there was a lot of discussion about the Pacmate Omni before
it hit the market, but not a lot of details.

My personal view is that all of the notetakers have their advantages and
shortcomings.  What we need to do is research each one.  Freedom
Scientific, Humanware, and probably GW Micro and Levelstar have
representatives around the country and in other countries to do
demonstrations and let you get your hands on them and try them out.
Take advantage of these opportunities to learn what's out there.
