Malaina and Alex,

When you got the 0 result, (assuming you always had speech on), did you always get the invalid tone?
I don't know anything about nemeth.

I'm using UK Braille, and am not even sure what calculator maths code I am using, so I hope the following comes out ok--I'll perhaps try to explain in computer code equivalent.
I tried -1x(3/4) and got -1.
I then tried <negative 1>x(3/4) and got 0 and the invalid tone.
(In the above I used the dots 3-4-6 instead of "x" to raise to the power, and made the <negative 1> by preceeding 1 with <space>3-6). The calculator is perhaps trying to do (-1)x(3/4), and getting upset. I tried to explicitly ask it to do that, and got the invalid tone when entering the minus sign after the open bracket--(it didn't accept the minus).

Regards,
Steve.

Ok. On the qt things are written differently the x for the power
sign is dots 45 in nemeth code. When I was writing in the emails
how I wrote it in the keyplus I was using the nemeth fraction
indicators. I tried it again using negative 1 to the 3/4 as a
fraction and got 0.
I am using an mpower qt with keysoft 7.5 build 28.

No, NEGATIVE 1 to the 3/4 (3/4 entered as a fraction). As in (in
Nemeth):
space-3-6 2 4-5 1-4-5 backspace-3-ard 1-4 enter
You should see 0. If not, which ks version do you have? I should
mention that this happens to me on an mpower bt with ks7.5.27.

Have a great day,
Alex

Alex I just tried your example on my qt and I got the answer of
1. You said it was 1 to the power of 4/3? When I did that the
answer came up as 1.

When I raise ?1 to the power of 4/3, I get 0; I should get 1.
This is not good; it gave me wrong anwsers for a lot of my
calculus homework. Just glad it is not graded on the answers,
just on effort.

Have a great day,
Alex
