Hi. Here is what you should do:
1. from the main menu press D for database manager
2. At the "database to use?" prompt, select the appropriate
drive and folder in the usual way. Create and name the database
according to your needs e.g. attendance, grades etc.
3. You will be asked if you wish to create the file, press y for
yes or n for no
4. You are now in the equivalent of Microsoft Excel where "field
1 name?" is where "column 1" appears on a excel file.
Here's an example of what you should do.
Field 1: student name (field type: string)
Field 2: date (field type: date)
Field 3: was student present (field type: yes/no choice)
exit by pressing space with e. Press no for the two prompts and
then press enter to confirm. To lookup entries in the database
from the keybase menu press L." You should be in an entry list
just like you are to add a record. If you wanted to see if Bob
Joe was present on June 14th, you would enter his name in the
"name" field and June 14th in the date field (note: dates must be
entered as month/day/ye
If you wish for me to create this file for you just let me know
Good night
Zach

Subject: [Braillenote] what utility can be used for keeping
attendancerecords?
Hi all.
I have a friend who is teaching. He doesn't like to keep the
attendance
record on his computer. He wants to take the attendance using
the bn (mPower
qt 32) and keep records on the bn. Is there a program on the BN
he can use?
One way I could think of was to make a file with the students
names and
other details. Mark them absent or present on the day of the
class and save
that file as that date i.e. oc6_2008 and so on. Is it possible
to do it
without having to create many files? It will be hell lot of job
looking in
each file for each student at the end of the semester.
Thanks for suggestions.
Regards
TaraPrakash
