For the first part of your problem, try the 4 5 6 reset and see if that helps. No answer concerning transfering files from computer. Hugh

Subject: [Braillenote] A couple
questions

Hi list,

I just got a new MPower
two months ago and it's been acting
odd. Sometimes when I reset it after it
freezes, it will say, "serial
number required. Please contact your
distributor," and then make a strane
noise. A 1-2-3 reset has seemed to fix
it, but it's happened twice since I
got the unit.

Now it's not even
starting. I haven't used it since last
Monday, so I plugged it in Saturday
afternoon to juice it up for this week.
It didn't register the adapter, nor did
it respond to any of the three
resets. I've had it plugged in for
almost two days with no response. I'm
not sure if it's something wrong with
the adapter or the MPower's battery,
but I've had it only two months and I
don't know why either would be acting
up. I haven't tried a service reset yet
because I can't get in touch with
tech support until tomorrow. I need to
use the unit tonight, so if anyone
has dealt with this and has any
suggestions on anything else to do, please
let me know. I had a classic model
before and it never had this problem.

My other question has to
do with transferring rich text
files from my computer to the
BrailleNote. I'll create a rich text document
in Microsoft Word and put it on the
BrailleNote, but when I try to open it
in KeyWord, all that comes up in the
file is a special character and a
dashed line. Is there any way that I
can ensure that all the text in my
documents transfers properly? Plain
text is the only format that always
works without a hitch, but I prefer rich
text and Microsoft Word files.

I'd really appreciate
any feedback you might have.

Thanks,

Jessie
