This has indeed been suggested before, and most of us agree that
it would be a great thing to have, along with message rules and
thread sorting. However, it cannot happen until Humanware
upgrades the version of Windows CE on which keysoft runs so that
it will support multi-tasking. A multi-tasking os would also let
us do other things while many emails are downloading, while files
from the internet are opening, while we are copying, moving, or
opening large files or folders, while large webpages are loading,
and so on.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] keymail suggestion
hi list.
I think this may have been discussed before.
I think that there should be an option off the keymail setup menu
allowing you to choose how keymail sends/receives email.
The first option on this list should be something like:
"Connection mode?" These would be the options available:
manually--this would mean that you would have to choose yourself
to send/receive email. This is how keymail works at the moment.
upon connection--when you connect your braillenote to the
internet, keymail would automaticly send/receive email.
continuously--when connected to the internet, keymail would check
for new email in regular intervels.
The next option (which only applies if either upon connection or
continuously modes are selected) should be something like:
"Notify me of new incoming email?" This would display a message
telling you when a new email is received. This would appear even
if you are in another aplication such as the wordprocessor,
planner etc.
The next option (which only applies if continuously mode is
selected) should be something like: "Checking intervel?" This
would set the number of seconds before keymail checks for new
email.
The final option (which only applies if either upon connection or
continuously modes are selected) would be something like:
"Default email account?" You can either select one account or set
keymail to check all email accounts.
note: this option would not work correctly if you haven't saved
your password (typed it in at the "Password?" prompt in the email
account)
Just a suggestion.
Thanks.
Technology: it's great when it works, but rubbish when it
doesn't!
