Ok, Yes. I agree. You have the bn, sitting there, with a fairly small number of buggs, and the software is aging. Then you have this new software being developed which will hopefully eliminate some if not all of those bugs. Hw needs to start to at least give a hint as to when it will be released. However, in saying that though, Maurice Sloane last year said that their polacy states that they cannot release any details. Really, our sma counts are just sitting there wasting away. Ks7.5.29 is nearly 6 months old, and that is getting old for a computer. If there is a hw staff member looking at this list that is allowed to shed some light on the situation, it really really would be appreciated. Even if you are unable to tell us some of what is on there, we are all heavily anticipating a release date and think that it is taking a little more time than it technicly it should. We are not trying to complain or anything, just be as diplomatic as is possible. Cheers, Blake Ison.

Just think of the interest that HW earns
off our money while we await the
upgrades though.

I bought 2 SMA counts in anticipation of
ks8, which hw still says
will be released in fall of 2008 right
on the ks7.5 upgrade
webpage. They are fast running out of
fall in which to announce.
I have resigned myself to the fact that
it will most likely be a
February release like some others have
been (remember 6.11), but
I do not think that any of our SMAs will
ever just sit there and
never do anything. That would mean a
total drop of support for
the bn, and that is not going to happen
without a lot of
announcements, both from hw and public
blogs and email lists. I
think they are either planning something
big or they hit some
unexpected snags with developing ks8.
Remember with 7.5 build 17
how erasing your trash folder when you
closed keymail deleted
your entire inBox? And they didn't catch
this in BETA TESTING?? I
think they are trying to avoid something
big like that (that cost
me 50 or so email). Just my thoughts,
based in no way on any
info, public or private, from hw, except
the bit about what is
posted on the 7.5 upgrade page.

Have a great day,
Alex

That's true. I have these counts
waiting too. I hope they
announce the
upgrades soon!
They should include plenty of features
considering the time it
has, and will
take for the announcement to be made.
Hope it was worth waiting for.

Alana, you are a mind reader! I was
thinking exactly that
yesterday.
I'm sitting with sma counts, in other
words they have my money,
and what
clue is there that we'll ever get our
money's worth?
I agree, we should be given some info as
to whether these
machines will
ever be updated, or are they just
destined for the trash heap!
Kathy
