I do not think that is strange, I think it is a good, more realistic way of seeing the situation. Mainly I want bugs fixed in ks, like another patch; sure improvements to keymail, an instant messaging client, better word support, and all that would make my life a lot easier, but these are not bugs. I have a file of around fifty bugs in ks7.5 that still exist even after five patches to the same version of ks. I think this should be a free upgrade, basically another build, and I will take the new features when and if they come.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Software upgrades

Well, I will just add my 2 cents here. I truly do understand the
anxiousness to find out what is going on with the upgrade. I see
it as rather pointless to pose that question here on this list
though. I wrote to Humanware directly last week to ask about
this. I didn't get any more information but at least I did get a
very timely return e-mail basically saying they couldn't tell me
anything. (grin)

I also don't really understand the line of reasoning that the
SMA's we havve bought are "wasting away". We buy them ahead of
time for a reason - to save money. Personally, I'd rather have
the upgrades come out less frequently unless there is a major
problem that needs to be fixed as it makes my dollar stretch for
a longer period of time. Obviously, I realize there are issues
that need to be addressed with Keysoft and people are really
hoping some of these things are going to be fixed with the next
release. As for me, I try to keep my expectations low for any
software upgrade and then I am pleasantly surprised when and if
something major is added or changed. (grin)

Just a little different perspective here. I know most of you
will probably just think I'm strange. Oh well.

Have a great day everyone,
Nikki B.
