Hi Alana,
A rhetorical question would be, "what would happen if we have no virtual
memory at all?" For computers, that would be scary - less space to put data,
RAM scarcity, etc. In connection to this, a short answer for your question
would be, "there is no way to free up virtual memory when an application is
using it." The reason for drops in virtual memory when using KeyWeb is that,
for IE, it needs to display not only web text, but it needs to render text
via HTML markups (which, together with the text itself, takes up to 16 MB of
virtual memory).
I don't know whether I've uploaded this to my PBWiki yet - if I haven't I'll
promise to write about this by end of the year.
Alex, Ray, any other fellow programmers (or would-be programmers), do you
have anything to add to this? Thanks.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. Virtual memory is somewhat tricky to explain...

Subject: [Braillenote] Virtual memory

Hi,
I have noticed that when I reset my BN and check my virtual
memory the unit says that it is at 53%. If I log on to a web
page using wireless or ethernet the BN says I have 23%.
How do I free all of the virtual memory?
This occurs even after a 4-5-6 reset.
Thanks.
Alana
