Check:
1. That the sound you used to replace the default is only a few secondsin lendth and isdated after 2005.
2.X is: "flash disk/windows/startup.wav".
It should work. Letu know what happens.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hi Alex, Joseph and all,

I did what you guys have mentioned, the BN did indeed tell me
that the
system files have been updated and that I need to reset. But, I
think
I screwwed something up, because I don't have any keysoft sound
now. I
tried putting back the original startup sound, but that didn't
help
either. What can be the problem. I'm running KS 7.5 build 28.

All the best,

Siena.

P.S. If anyone has any Windows sounds from any or all versions
of
Windows, could you please send them to me.

Thanks in advance!

All the best,

Siena.

Hi alana,
It is indeed possible: create a folder named "windows" - without
quotes- on
Flash Disk. If there is already a folder with this name, skip
it. Now, copy
a short (preferably less than 5 seconds long) .wav file
(CAUTION: the
modified date of this file should be later than 2005 in order
for the sound
to work). Reset your unit; after few moments, BrailleNote
should tell you
that system files needs to be updated. Press Reset again and
your new sound
is ready to go.
Personally, I've set my reset sould to that of Windows XP
startup sound.
When KeySoft 8.0 (perhaps with a new OS) is released, I might
use Windows
Vista sound instead...
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi,
Is there any way to change the reset sound that plays after
KeySoft restarts?
Thanks.
