Check:
1. That the sound you used to replace the default is only a few
secondsin lendth and isdated after 2005.
2.X is: "flash disk/windows/startup.wav".
It should work. Letu know what happens.

quotes- on
Flash Disk. If there is already a folder with this name, skip
it. Now, copy
a short (preferably less than 5 seconds long) .wav file

Personally, I've set my reset sould to that of Windows XP
startup sound.
When KeySoft 8.0 (perhaps with a new OS) is released, I might
use Windows
Vista sound instead...
