Hi, I am assuming that Humanware do have some beta testers because there has been talk in the past of software being delayed because a bug was found at the last minute. also I got my hands on a machine at a demo before 7.5 was out and this machine was already running 7.5 with the Ueb in it. The machine I am talking about was used by a blind Humanware employee. So my guess is that they do have beta testers they just don't ask anyone to do it. Part of it would be that they don't want any leaks of what is in the release getting out to the competition so they are selective of who they get as beta testers.

Well this is my thoughts.
From Shaz.

I really could not agree more, but good luck getting hw to
listen. Not being
negative, just sticking to what I have seen of hw in the past,
especially
recently.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Beta testing

Hello Alex and all,

Allowing clients to test software has many benefits. Among them
is the very important reason: OWNERSHIP. If a client can
contribute to the improvement of a product, they are almost
always pleased to do it and gain a deal of satisfaction from
helping.

My first Braillenote (version 5) only displayed 59 seconds in
every minute -- now fixed. The current version of Keysoft still
has a problem setting the time to the right hour. I know we
would have found these faults within minutes. I certainly did
and I wasn't testing, just using.

A proforma could be devised for people wishing to lodge change
repuests. I have even seen applications designed for the
purpose.

We could all win from beta testing by a broader client base.

Dave.
