I have responded in your text, and welcome to the list!

1. All my braille files are of extension .brl. Does changing to brf enable the BN to prompt for less information? When opening the file, I do not want the BN asking if I want to "review previous options." No, this is always asked unless the file is a keyword text or keyword braille file.

Likewise, I don't need the BN asking if I want to save the file
in keysoft format when exiting.
The first time this is prompted, press "s" to suppress this prompt for the file you just exited. You will have to do this each time you deal with a new file, and the setting is not saved after a 4-5-6 reset.

2. Navigating from disk to disk, to folder and subfolder,
listing files of any type, and returning back to an easy list of folders and subfolders is frustrating at best. I know intuitively that the way to manage files, find them and open them easily should be completely overhauled. Either I am missing something, or Humanware missed the mark and really needs to improve folder and file navigation.

The Braille Sense ease of navigation is exactly why I was able to
begin using the machine right out of the box.

What are the user experiences, and the general mood on the part
of Humanware?
Can you give more information here? I find this navigation easy; the default drive is your Flash Disk (fd), so you are prompted for a folder. Backspacing (up a level) goes up to a drive list, and going down by selecting a folder moves to the files level; just think of it in terms of levels: 1=drives, 2=folders/directories, 3=files. To select a folder, move to it and hit enter or type it in when prompted. To select a directory (sub-folder), press space-t when prompted for a folder and type the path, or navigate to a folder and hit enter (after pressing space-t to go into directory mode). Instead of offering files, the bn now offers any folders under the selected folder. Finally, you can move to a folder, whether in folder or directory mode, and press space-5-6. The bn says "list of folders on [current drive]" but actually offers a list of directories under the folder you were "pointing to" when you pressed space-5-6. You can move down as many levels as you want in this manner. The process could of course be simplified, but as it stands I find it cumbersome, but easy.

3. Once I painstakingly found and opened my file, the Braille
Note assumes that the file is eventually going to be embossed, so it inserts a line break 40 spaces in from the beginning of what it calls a paragraph. The Braille Note definition of a line, and a paragraph is consistent with printed and embossed documents, but as a user I do not want my note-taker formatting things for me.

I reached out to a braille note user about this automatic
formatting and she is often frustrated when writing long mathematical equations that get broken up by line breaks.

The Braille Sence allows me to read by paragraph, and unit, and
this should be another reading mode one could get to with space m.

This mode of reading goes paragraph to paragraph with the press
of the space a, and space dot 4. Likewise it moves unit to unit with space 2-3 and space 5-6.

While we are at it, why not show blank lines too.
This line insertion has always been a major point of frustration for me, as has the bn's inability to honor hard returns in text files (.txt and other files made in plaintext, like .js, .html, and other code files). What do you mean by showing blank lines?

Thank you for your thoughtful response.
