Actually $15 a Braille page isn't all that expensive.  Have heard
CNIB in Canada charges around $30 a Braille page to their
commercial clients like school districts, colleges and
universities.  They are very proud that blind clients are never
charged for their services, but they take until Doomsday to
Braille anything for a client.  Maybe this is why scanners with
OCR software and Duxbury Braille Translator and Braille embossers
are a growth industry in Canada.

But for an individual $15 a Braille page is pretty steep even if
you get library grade Braille transcription in a timely fashion.
