Dear Jamie and List,
You can write a simple document and export it as a .doc file, but the file
seen by your PC will be a Rich Text Format file, not a Word file.
Also, formatting such as page numbering, line spacing, new page breaks and
styles such as lines, outline, headings and subheadings won't be preserved
when you export the document. That's why any complex formatting must be
done on a PC.
Any time you import a file and open it and edit it using a different word
processor from the original word processor, the document's formatting will
change.
