Rebecca,
Er, This message is somewhat suspicious... I guess that in order
to assist you in this situation, we may need more information
about your current BrailleNote, and answers for following
questions:
* What was the original KeySoft version and build number?
* What KeySoft version and build number were you trying to
upgrade to?
* What bin file did you download: the newer version or the
current one?
* When you press RESET with dots 4-5, did you here a sequence of
rising tones with the message, loading" on the braille display?
* How long did this process last between the press of the RESET
with dots 4-5 and the start of KeySoft with the startup sounds?
* At the Main Menu, what information did you get after press
SPACE with i (RAD with I) then SPACE? This information should
give you the newer KeySoft version and/or build number.
Suggestion: If the upgrade method via RESET with dots 4-5 did not
help, try pressing RESET with dots 4-6, then press a (number 1 on
QT, if I remember correctly) and see what happens.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] upgrade
Hi everyone. I find the Braille note m-power to be the most
difficult
machine that I've ever used as far as upgrading. There are way
too many
steps and if you hit four five and reset I feel as if I have to
do it about
200 times because for some reason it doesn't take. it just keeps
on
resetting itself back to the keysoft. Why can't it be as easy as
the stream
you just plug it in put the card in and go? Yes the file is on
the root of
the card and it's one .bin file. I've been on the phone with
humanware
about 3 times now and am so frustrated that I would in some
respects
consider selling the thing and buying a laptop. This is totally
ridiculous.
If I didn't like the braille display and how much it helped me
while working
I would sure consider it.
