I have not found that the entire file is erased, but I find that with non-keyword files, such as .doc files, sometimes the contents will be erased if you switch from keyword to another application or, though it is rare now, when you exit to the keyword menu or try to save the file with space-s. In the case of switching tasks, no errors are given but the file contents will be gone when you open the file again by switching back to it. In the latter cases, the famous "exception: converter. Access violation [reading or writing] [what I assume to be a ram address]" error is displayed, and all text past a point in the file is gone, though I have not been able to find a system by which this point is determined. Again, though, this is very rare in the latest ks versions; in fact, I am not sure when it last happened.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hi Nicole,

There is no known explanation as to why this occurs. These
issues can
often be very hard to track down and are often solved by a chance
observation. It was interesting to read KD's observation that
using the
Thumb keys while exiting a file can cause issues. We will
certainly
look further into that.

In your experience is it more likely to occur in any one file
type. For
example, is it happening only in Keyword Braille files or other
file
types.

Maurice

Is there an explanation for why the bn sometimes randomly erases
a file
when you exit it? You can tell that it's happening because it
takes
longer to close the file than usual, so, obviously, some process
either
is or is not happening.
