Hi Paul,
That probably means there is a problem with the connection -
either the socket or plug - most likely the plug.
We used to do the same thing about 30 years ago to make something
called a DB3 start working again.
(A DB3 was a Braille printer that embossed on to paper tape.
Licking the jack plug that connected the teletype got the
embosser going again).
Regards,
Steve.

were evil."

Hello,
I touched the tip of the ac adapter with my tung and it seems
like it fixed it. I can't say for sure, however.
So for now, hopefuly it's not broke.

hi paul,
with the ac adaptor still plugged in to the power socket on the
wall and switched on, pull the adaptor out of your bn, and touch
the tip with your tongue.
if you don't feel any power, the adaptor is not working
