Hi Chaman,

Wow, I'm glad to hear so many people echoing my thoughts! Yes, releasing a chat client that doesn't support any of the popular instant messaging services seems rather to me like starting a restaurant but not selling any food there.

First and foremost, there are services called "transports" that may enable you to communicate to these mainstream instant messaging services via XMPP clients such as Keychat. The trouble is that they're rare, unreliable, and could even be costly. In fact, ever since Keychat came out I've been aimlessly searching for a working MSN transport. They don't seem to be available at this point.

To answer your other question about Gmail/Google Talk, ironically, despite the announcement from Humanware, I don't even think Google Talk will be compatible. This is because to the best of my knowledge, it requires secure (SSL) authentication which I don't believe works with Keychat. While I'm sure about my other points, I'm not absolutely certain about Gmail/Google Talk not being compatible, so if I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.

In my opinion, I think the user base of Keychat is going to be pretty low because there's barely any practical uses for it out there.

Subject: [Braillenote] keychat

hello guys.

I have created a gmail account to be used with the google talk
service.
however, i have configured everything and still when i go to sign
on i get the error message.
one other thing has anyone been able to figure out how msn can be
used with the mPower? It is pretty pointless releasing a program
that does not function with the most used IM services.

thanks
