I don't use SD cards, but I keep a 4 gb and a 16 gb cf card in my bn MPower 24 7 and I have never noticed that my battery drains too quickly. Generally , I will watch my charge and run it down. Yes, I charge it regardless if I am going on a long trip without the charger, but usually wait to charge it till it gets to at least as low as 30. It is good battery care with any type of rechargeable battery to run it down and not keep it plugged in all the time. I killed a laptop battery once by leaving the laptop plugged in 24 7. Then, when I went to start the laptop without being plugged in, it would not start.

As I do my email I have my SD card in, but not the wireless card, just in case I want to save an email with good directions to a file. I usually use my BrailleNote unplugged. Unless I'm at my computer desk. What do most of you do? Do you keep your SD card out until you want to save something to make your battery stretch?
