Hi,
I, too, notice no battery drain differences when using SD cards or not. I
usually leave a 256 MB SD card and an 8 GB CF card in my unit all the time.
To really find out how mjuch power is being used, go to Options/Support
Information MNOde/Battery Power command (SPaCE with O/FN+O, SPaCE with
I/READ+I, then J). The more negative the number is, the more power is being
used.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. I'll definitely bring this up on the Sixth Chat, which I am
hoping to host on Sunday night (it will be Monday morning in Australia.).

Subject: [Braillenote] Making Your Battery Last Longer

Hi everyone,
I had heard that leaving an SD card in will drain the BrailleNote
battery, but had forgotten about it. As I do my email I have my
SD card in, but not the wireless card, just in case I want to
save an email with good directions to a file. I usually use my
BrailleNote unplugged. Unless I'm at my computer desk. What do
most of you do? Do you keep your SD card out until you want to
save something to make your battery stretch?
Linda
