hello,

Actually, the Braillenote does not do a great well with lots of emails. If you get about 200 messages or more, it tends to freeze up for a couple of minutes, and then it will come to life again.

Thanks:

Paul

browsing ontheMPower.

Hi, I'll try and answer as many of your questions as I can. When
you receive
messages you first land on the subject field and you can space
down to see
who it is from if you don't want to read it then you can use
backspace with
dots 2 3 5 6 to send it to trash. If you are reading a message
and you wish
to reply to it then there is a email options menu that you get to
with space
with dots 2 and 6. I have never had anyone complain about
translation errors
when I have sent messages from my PK. Because I use the PK for
email it does
have a problem with large amounts of email however the few times
I have used
my MPower I haven't had any problems with it, the resetting is
more to do
with the f use.

Another thing you can do is search by subject or name, so if you
are
following a discussion from one list but you have lots of
messages in your
inbox that is painful to sort through to find the right messages
then you
can search by subject and put what subject line you are looking
for and all
the messages with that subject will be shown without the other
messages and
once you have finished reading them then all you need to do is go
back into
the inbox and you will find all the other messages still there.
When reading
messages and you hit space with E to exit the current message it
will ask
you where you want to move the message and then you can choose to
trash it
or if you want to keep it then you can move it to another folder.
You have a
"my emails" folder as a default but you can make your own folders
if you
wish.

Hope this helps to answer some of your questions.

From Shaz.
BN QT MPower and PK user.

Subject: [Braillenote] Beginner questions about e-mail and
browsing on
theMPower.

Hello, since I've had my MPower since February 08, and the
classic model for
six years before that, I've never tried the online capabilities
of either
unit. Now Sendero tells me that they'll sell me a wireless card
which will
work with the MPower. I'm considering this, especially since I
deal with
hundreds of e-mails a day from discussion lists, and I've had
four Windows
computer crashes this year alone. I was reading the manual on
e-mail, and it
sounds straightforward. I've been an Outlook Express user for
ten years, and
I'm used to being in the list of messages, hearing the from and
subject
fields and hitting the delete key quickly. This way, I can move
quickly
through the discussion lists, while not reading every message.
Can this be
done in the MPower, or do you actually open each message and
scroll through
the fields? If you move through the fields with dot 4 chord, can
you delete
fields so that when moving through, you can just hear the from
and subject
field before deciding whether to read? Also, I've heard about
needing to
reset the unit a lot, but is this more prevalent in the browser
than with
e-mail? Can the MPower deal well with a high volume of e-mail? Do
you always
have to go through the menus to get to options, or can you hit R
chord to
reply to an open message? Also, are there translation errors
sometimes when
writing in grade two which translate back to regular print? Was
there ever
an audio demo of either e-mail or the browser so I can hear it in
action
before I buy the card? I can't do anything until I have the card.
Thanks a lot.
Matthew
