I asked HW about the lack of support for Facebook Chat, and this
is their response. I still do not understand how, if FB is just
xmpp, keychat will not work when at least one other client,
Miranda, works just fine, but at least they are looking at it.
Still, if they have to release an update to connect to any
network, why not just go for MSN and the other non-xmpp ones
right off? What is the difference? Okay, rant over, here is the
hw reply.

Hello Alex
Thank you for notifying us of this activity. It has been
duplicated and
our R&D team is investigating. You are correct that the
flexability of
XMPP was a strong reason why the client used in keysoft is using
that
protocol. Traditionally one would be able to simply type their
username
at chat.facebook.com, then their password, use chat.facebook.com
as
their server, and the service would sign in. This activity is
not
occuring. Because the facebook xmpp chat capability is so
recent, we
are, like the rest of the chat community, still determining how
facebook's methods differ from other xmpp services.
Thank you again for notifying us and stay tuned to the
BrailleNote
newswire for any updates.
Regards

Subject: Facebook XMPP chat
Hello,
One of the major reasons hw decided to go with XMPP in keychat
instead of a network like MSN or AIM was so that, as new networks
emerged using xmpp, we could immediately use them. I thought
this was a bad idea at first, but I now see the wisdom in such a
decision...
Facebook's new XMPP network seemed the perfect test; Google Talk
worked, but you already knew that since a GT example is right in
the ks8 readme. Facebook's network, however, will not work on
the BrailleNote, at least as far as I and another user can tell.
If the idea of supporting XMPP is to give users immediate access
to any XMPP network, then why will Facebook not work? I was quite
disappointed when I found that this was the case; I thought I
would finally see your XMPP-only idea pay off and leave GWM in
the dust, but it seems that either keychat does not have
something right or FB is not doing something right. Since other
clients, such as Miranda IM, are working just fine with FB, I am
leaning toward something being incorrectly programmed in keychat
itself. I ask that this be investigated as soon as possible, not
only so we can start talking to FB friends, but so that HW can
have another selling point: support for the Facebook Chat
network, where GWM notetakers only support the MSN network.
Thanks.
Have a great day,
