A small correction here: not all the kssd is erased. For example, cookies 
and history are on there and are not erased, and all default files for the 
entire keysoft program are there as well.

The reason you have to search for the devices again is because
all the bluetooth info and configurations are saved into the
Keysoft registry, and they are part of the Keysoft system stored
in the KeySoft System Disk. The contents of the KeySoft System
disk get erased including any saved data about networks and
bluetooth, when you press reset holding down Dots 4 5 6. That's
why you can't find your bluetooth devices afterward.
