This will work; the only problem is that you cannot have text that appears
only before the first record. Whatever you put in the template file is going
to appear for every record.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Wordprocessing Templet for DB or forms
Yes, you do this by creating a keybase database with all fields (name,
address, dob, payment, date seen, and so on). You then make a keyword
file, inserting database fields as necessary, using the backspace-i
command. A simple template for a <test> database with just a <text>
field, might look like:
This text is from my database: <text>
where <text> is a field inserted using backspace-i. Then I could print
records using that database's print option, selecting my template when
prompted to do so. This will do what you are looking for. Again, I
refer you to section 10.9 of the manual. If this sort of template
system is not what you are looking for, please explain why it would
not work. Thanks.

Hello All & Alex,
what I am trying to do is have a database that fill in, see a number
of clients, fill in the date, name and other information, when
finished need to print it (ink) on the templet there is information
that make it look like the hardcopy form, on the hardcopy you can fill
in a number of clients that have been seen. So what I am trying to do
is setup so that at the top of the form (templet) is static (does not
change) then below there is information depending on how many clients
that are seen would print in the format setup the information, when
finished the first row from the db then it would print the next one
and so on so it would look like such:
---------- Start of Example ----------
Company name / header <-Static
Mike Smith <-static
Date printed <-static / dynamic
Client Name: Zee Smith Client DOB: 1/12/1952
Address: 1 main rd xxxx xxx xxxxx Payment type: xxx
Client Name: Dee Smith Client DOB: 1/12/1981
Address: 1 main rd xxxx xxx xxxxx Payment type: xxx
Client Name: Mee Smith Client DOB: 1/12/1942
Address: 1 main rd xxxx xxx xxxxx Payment type: xxx
Company Footer <-Static
---------- End of Example ----------
I hope this help you understand what I am trying to do!
God Bless,
Christopher

I am not sure I understand. We have templates that we can make for
databases, then we can put databases in files using the templates. I
think I am missing what you are trying to say?

Hello:
Now this would be wonderful. I can think of several
ways that I might use forms in my work.
But, although I love the idea from my vantage point
we can not do this within KeySoft. Perhaps with the
promised KeyWork upgrade?
Best of luck.
