Hello Joseph,
We appear to have both found the problem at the same time. As I
reported in my last message, I was looking for the original file
name but the Apex renames all these files in the directory as
key1, etc. I have contacted Humanware support directly with my
findings and will report back if they can explain why the Apex
forces these files to show up with different names.

Subject: re: [Braillenote] A vanishing keyword file problem
partly solved
Hi Richard and Cam,
I found a different result. I've briefly tested Richard's
suggestion (at least partially) by creating one of those KeySoft
2 files on my Apex. When you go through the list of files, you
can view it without having to reveal hidden files. The file
would be named key1.brl or key1.txt depending on the format.
Even though if you rename the file to something you can identify
with, it'll still show up as key1 no matter what. Also, when I
opened this file, it gave bunch of text code (ASCII symbols) and
some odd formatting things.
However, when you create a file, KeySoft 2 shows up as one of the
file type choices under Apex...
Cheers,
Joseph
