I have tried this twice with the same results. As I asked previously, do I need to load Keysync. The manuals do not clearly state so. Also when I go to the CD or the Humanware site, I find that the newest Keysync is version 4.0 and it says it is for BrailleNote's running Keysoft 8.o. There is no mention whether this is for the Apex running Keysoft 9.02. After installing Keysync 4.0 and trying to sync I get a text message in the log stating that this is a 32 bit version and syncing failed.
Again, is there a simple step by step procedure available that allows one to install and set up the correct software in the correct order? -----Original Message----- From: Joseph Lee [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 3:09 PM To: 'Rich Irwin'; 'braillenote list' Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Syncing Apex With PC Hi, I just had that problem a few days ago. You might need to install WMDC 64-bit again to fix this. Cheers, Joseph -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rich Irwin Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 12:11 PM To: 'braillenote list' Subject: [Braillenote] Syncing Apex With PC I am frustrated. I have been trying to set up my Apex to sync with my PC. I have followed all the instructions. I have downloaded wmdc to my PC using the version identified for use with Vista 64. I have connected the USB cable. When I connect the cable, I hear a ping from the computer that recognizes that something is connected to the USB port. When I open WMDC manually, it says that it is not connected. When on the Apex I choose U for utilities and then c for connect, nothing happens. If I choose U for utilities, then S for Sync and S again for sync now, in about 30 seconds I get a message that "Could not connect to partner. Check the network is connected and the keysync pc software is running, if running through a firewall check port 9613 is open". I have checked that. This last message implies that Keysync needs to be loaded on the computer, but nowhere in the instructions is this stated. Does anyone have a simple list of steps to go through to install that which is needed to be able to sync the Apex with a computer instead of going to 3 or 4 different places in the instructions?
