Hi, Yes - well, almost. The "bluetooth serial port" effectively is almost the same as connecting two devices via serial cable to allow other services to be activated. This service is used for Braille terminal port, GPS receiver and object exchange. When two Bluetooth devices find each other, there must be a basic connection, allowing other services to use this connection. This basic connection is the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP). Using this service, we can send and receive files between two devices. Other services are extensions of this service - I'd say it's just a variation of serial port service e.g. Headset and Modem which requires conventional cable to operate, but the serial port provides a "virtual cable" connection for this purpose.
