I agree. I find SD cards much more popular and supported (most laptops
have built-in SD slots, but not CF slots), and thumb drives work in
pretty much anything. Besides, you now have 8gb of onboard storage, so
you can store a great deal more on the apex's flash disk than you
could on a classic.
As far as the reader, try this: after making a backup of the cf card
(I do not expect there to be a problem, but I am paranoid about data
loss), plug the card into the reader and the reader into the apex,
then hit the reset button. Once the machine is back at the main menu,
go to keyword and see if "hard disk" is available as a drive.
