Hi,
The emails are stored in what's called "database" - a collection of data.
Here, Inbox, Outbox and such are not actually "folders", but just a way of
organizing email. In other words, they are not what we'd think of them as
"folders" where you can access it using File manager.
There are several email-related files under KeyMail folder on Flash Disk:
* directory of email accounts.cdb and directory of email accounts.klt: the
database where your email accounts are stored. The latter is the KeyList
definition file for that database while the former is the database file
itself. These are actually stored in KeyList folder (if I remember right).
* email folders.cdb: This database holds all your emails, organized into
groups called "folders". How this database is organized and ways of
manipulating it for synchronization, we don't know - but a brief picture is
that it's like an Excel spreadsheet for each folder and each folder being a
small workbook or a smaller database; if combined, it produces the email
database system (too much information, huh?).
As for backing it up, you'd copy the KeyMail folder to somewhere else, and
when you restore it, resotre the KeyMail folder to Flash Disk - and all your
emails will be restored.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Backing Up Emails

Hi all. Is there a way to back up emails stored on the
BrailleNote? Recently, I had to send my MPower away for repair
and I tried back up my emails along with everything else but when
I tried to look for them on the compact flash card, I couldn't
find them. No folder I looked in showed the email folders like
the InBox etc. Where are they stored on the BN itself? The
Keysoft System Disk or the Flash Disk? How does one back them up?
Is it possible to back them up on the Andc as well?

I'm sure this question has been asked recently but,
unfortunately, all my emails have been lost. I must have deleted
some of the folders by mistake when I thought I was deleting the
ones on the compact flash card. Now I'm in big trouble because I
have lost heaps of important ones. I also think that if one can
back them up on a card or the computer, it will free up room on
the BrailleNote.

Thanks.

Michele
