Another advantage to saving let's say a Microsoft Word document
in Keysoft is you don't have to lose all your writing if you
happen to exit accidentally. This is big, and the reason I never
write a long document in Word, but always allow it to translate
into user friendly Keysoft.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] keeping place in keyword document
If you are in brf or any other format and save as a keyword
document,
here is what you get:
1. The keyword file will retain your last position, block
markers,
layout changes, and place markers indefinitely.
2. No extension will be shown on the filename when it appears in
a list.
3. You will not be asked "review previous options?" every time
you
open the document.
4. Disadvantage: no other device (except another bn) can read
these
files, so you must translate them before using another device to
edit
or view them. Attaching them to an email makes this easy since
you are
prompted to attach as a non-keyword format automatically.
That is all I can think of for now. Any differences in
size/space
taken on disk are small enough to not worry about.

Alice, I have not used Keyword documents, but when I read BRF
documents I
keep my place by hitting a space, then writing 4 number signs
together, then
another space. Usually it takes me back to where I left off,
but if it
doesn't, I do the find command and look for the combination of
characters I
used to mark my place.
I haven't learned the difference between Keyword and whatever it
turns into
when it asks me when I'm exiting, "Do you want to save as a
Keyword
document?" I always say no. What are the advantages of
Keyword?
