First, I want to make sure that you are not thinking of a cellular
connection when you say that the netbook could "connect anywhere", as
cell radios are not built into most laptops and netbooks and, if they
are, you have to pay a monthly subscription to the cell carrier.

As to braille display functionality, it will not work at all with jaws
on windows7 64-bit, which is likely the version you will end up with.
I am not sure if it will work on 32-bit, but I doubt it due to Chris's
response and other stories I have heard.

A Mac laptop is more expensive, but is very light and thin. With the
latest MacOS version, it should work fine with the mPower as a braille
display. Of course, you would have to learn how to operate the Mac,
but I can say almost certainly that you will have no trouble using the
mPower as a display with the built in screenreader (called VoiceOver).
