It is a braille code that some English-speaking countries have adopted (but not the United States). It offers the ability to type pretty much anything - math, regular text, formatting - in the same file. When you use it, computer braille is only required in text files; web addresses, email addresses, and so on can all be entered in ueb, plus you can write math and other things in braille files alongside contracted braille. The code differs from grade 2 in some of its rules, and most of its special symbols, but the basic contractions are still there.
