SUCCESS!! In the message below I replied privately to John. I am now copying it to the list because this morning I was able to download and successfully install Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista 64 to my desktop and sync my Apex planner and address book with Microsoft Outlook on my desktop.
I have been trying unsuccessfully for over a year and had made many requests to this list for help. It seemed that my requests fell on deaf ears, as I never got any response to my pleas. I noticed that John had done the same with the same results. Well, I want to publicly thank Greg of Humanware tech Support for coming to my rescue. He e-mailed me that he noticed that I got no response and offered to link into my computer and see if he could solve the problem. He sent me the linking program and I downloaded it. Due to my schedule we never got to actually use it. However, he spent over one hour on the phone with me walking me through the steps I mentioned in the below note. As a result, I am now able to successfully sync my 64 bit PC with my Apex. Thank you, Greg. It's proof that Humanware is monitoring this list. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Gassman Sent: Friday, February 25, 2011 5:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Braillenote] windows 7 and my apex are not finding each other HI, I sent this to support but thought I'd also send it to the list in hopes of receiving a correct response. I'm not interested in guesses. Please respond only if you are sure you have a usable answer. I'll be gone for a few days and can only respond if I have a wireless connection available where I'm going. I'm using windows 7 64 byt, windows mobile center 64 byt and the newest Keysync which I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. John Hi, I just reinstalled keysync. When I plugged in my USB to the computer and to my apex. I got a message indicating that the driver could not be installed. I don't know which driver it was and so far have not gotten the message to repeat. When I am in the connection settings, I tab and hear allow USB connections checked allow connections to one of the following check box checked connections drop down box bluetooth one of one, Is this correct or should I hear something about USB connections since that is what I am connecting with? Next I hear this computer is connected to automatic one of three next I hear allow automatic device athentication check box checked Allow data connections on device when connected to PC check box not checked OK Cancel If I try and sync, I hear my apex say could not find a partner to sync with So obviously, windows 7 and my apex are not finding each other. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank You! John ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender. If your reply would be useful to the list, please send a copy to the list as well.
