If you are satisfied with the way the BN connects to a PC, that's fine. But I'm not! I want to be able to plug in a cable and go! I don't want to use ActiveSync nor do I want to go through the extra steps needed to set it up.

So, because the BN *can't* do what I want, I will use the competition's device. In this regard, HumanWare is *not* keeping up with the competition.

Good Day:

Actually, the process for activating audible or browsing the BrailleNote's disc structure on a computer is not really that complicated. All one has to do is to set up a partnership in Microsoft Active Sync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista and 7), a process which takes about thirty seconds. From there, all one has to do is to go into windows explorer or computer, find mobile device, select it and browse to the flash disc. As for Audible, one simply installs the BrailleNote component into the manager, finds the BrailleNote connected to the computer, opens the context menu, enters the required activation information and is done. Frankly, this noes not sound extremely complicated to me.

Well, if HIMS can figure out a way to alloww Windows to recognize *their*
notetaker as an external drive, then HumanWare can do the same.

Part of the reason is because most windows mobile and windows CE devices
don't show that way I don't think, it's drivers and coding in the software
that does that. I know phones have the ability to show as a drive, but
only with activeSync or similar installed. windows just isn't smart enough
to manage stuff like that alone.

Hi, List,

I think I'll postpone using Audible with the Apex because I find the
process to be so daunting!

I think it would be much easier if the Apex could automatically be
recognized as an external disk drive by the PC. The BrailleSense Plus
has this feature and I think it's wonderful! I believe that's why I was
able to activate Audible so easily with the BSP. The audible folder was
automatically created and the activation screen appeared automatically.

I can't understand why HumanWare didn't implement the feature of Windows
recognizing the BN as a disk drive long ago.
