I have not been following this thread, but I wanted to make sure no new
problem has arisen with 9.1, so I just downloaded a couple magazine issues.
Like all things Apex in my opinion, the process was not effortless, but it
was quite achievable. If 9.1 users can't do it, I can help.

As for some of the predicting that has gone on, I highly doubt WebBraille
and BookShare will merge. They are entirely different entities. The $50
annual free for Bookshare for the 90,000 books they have is a steal. What
will eventually happen is that WebBraille will somehow move to the BARD site
so that all NLS's braille and recordings are available from one unified
site. I'll be a little surprised if the division of books into volumes goes
away, since they are after all intended for paper production. The whole
WebBraille download process should be achievable by all and gives access to
a nice small collection of materials.

Hi,
Yes - the books are divided into volumes. It is slightly
tedious, but it has advantage of getting the actual book file
rather than the zip file and having to unlock it. Apparently
people said that it's the problem with NLS site itself.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi everyone,

I have been wanting to download books from WebBraille too, just
to see if they are much different from the Bookshare books. I
have no problem downloading Bookshare books onto my PC, unzipping
them and transferring them to my Braille Note card. Do you have
to download WebBraille differently? It sounds like it might be a
little more tedious from reading that you download one volume at
a time. Am I right? If so, I really hope that changes.

Someone at a library said that they were thinking of combining
Bookshare and WebBraille onto the same web site. That would be
nice. It would also be nice if there weren't a fee for Bookshare
books.
