I assume you got the G type card? Unless this is an older card you got
from another user or have had for a while? If it is the g card, you
will turn off the bn, insert the card, then turn the bn back on.
Inserting the card with the bn on will freeze the bn and require a
reset.

As to setting up the card, I assume you mean setting up the wireless
connection on the bn. To do this, you will need to know some
information about the network, primarily its security type (if any),
such as wep, wpa, or wpa2, and the security password (also called a
key). Once you are ready and have the card inserted, go to the options
menu, press c, press w, press y to turn on wifi, then press s to scan
for networks. You may have to press s a few times before the scan
works; usually 4 times will do it. Space down to the network you want
to connect to and press enter. An entry list for the new network will
appear. Space down the fields as usual, filling in the details as
required. Once you are done, exit, press y to save the record, then
move up or down in the list and then back to your network. You will
notice that the name you gave it is now in front of the ssid. Press
enter on the network to connect, unless the word "active" is after the
network name, in which case you should already be connected. To check
the status of this connection at any point, you can go to the options
menu, connectivity, and press a for active connection details.
