The keys on the Apex are quieter than both the mPower and a slate and
stylus. The thumb keys make a beep when you press them. I have never had
any problems with people becoming annoyed because of the sound of the
notetakers I've used.
However, I cannot recommend the Apex qwerty until HumanWare gets the
search-and-replace feature to work and until they fix it so you can use the
keyboard's hot keys when you connect the Apex to a compputer and use it as a
braille display.
