The problem with "Bottom-posting" is that it effectively reverses the flow of conversation. Perhaps you know what you said, but others (on the list) don't. Additionally, it makes it harder for me, since now I have to keep scrolling up and down to make sure I have responded adequately to everything you wrote. That's annoying, and rude to other listers who like me don't have terrific short-term memory and are taking a posting (which, remember, may be in an archive somewhere) completely out of context. It also encourages bandwidth waste by laziness of the poster not trimming the bits that aren't being replied to. A secondary effect of that is that search engines will show many unrelated postings for search queries. I realise it's the more common of the practices, but only because Microsoft have brought it upon all the world with their broken email software.
