Hi, I am now a happy PK and Apex user. However when I first got my PK in the
first twelve months it spent more time with humanware then it did with me. I
can't rember the exact details but it was one thing after another, I
remember the flash disk went regularly. Anyway they tried fixing my unit a
number of times with no luck in the end they sent me a new one and I still
had problems with that but in the end I got a working PK and I have had
hardly any problems with it since. The only problems I have had was when I
was using it as my sole machine for checking emails, the flash drive would
get full and then it would come up with the message about the flash drive
but I have the utility on my PC that humanware gave me to fix this problem
and it doesn't take long and it is back up and running however all the
information I had was gone. I just learnt to backup my planner and
connection details and never save documents to the flash drive and I didn't
lose anything important since I never deleted emails off the surver unless I
trash them.

Now I am a happy PK and Apex user and the Apex can nearly handle my email. I
say nearly because I have been a bit slack sorting out emails lately so I
have managed to fill up my email database to the point that it won't let me
move emails around but I have just deleted some attachments from the
attachment folder and it has been alright again. I am currently checking
emails on my laptop so I can get rid of some messages so then I can go back
to using the Apex again.

Well that's enough from me for now better go to bed.

suggestions?

| Hi,
| On my case, I sent my previous mPower for battery replacement. Other than
| that, no problem with it. HOwever, with my Apex, I find that I send my
unit
| once a year (for general cleaning and fixing braille display issues).
| As for the unit in question, I'm thinking that HW should have tested the
| units more thoroughly before sending the unit back, otherwise this kind of
| board issue might have not popped up. My guess is that either the actual
CF
| pins are not working, or the card reader is not connected to the board -
| perhaps incorrect connection or not receiving power from the circuitry.
| For Chris: Please tell Katie:
| I bet it's the hardware issue again - either the actual CF pins are
broken,
| or there might be something went wrong with internal connection. I heard
| similar cases like this before, so don't worry. Also, if you want to, ask
| Katie to join this list (or I'll send her a persona invite) to see what
| others think of this problem.
| Cheers,
| Joseph

|
| Well, when I first got my mPower, the spacebar got stuck and made the
| unit almost unuseable after a few months. To make a long story short,
| it got sent in four times, with the fourth time being a full keyboard
| replacement. After all that, the spacebar was still tilted and in
| danger of getting stuck (yes, even after a new keyboard). My flash
| disk also got corrupted, so they said they replaced it, and it got
| corrupted again. That taught me to stop using keymail, and I have so
| far had no problems with my apex after about a year and a half...
| Knock on wood!
