Hi,
I think some thumb-keys got stuck. If you press SPACE at Main
Menu and if you hear speech settings, then I'd say your PREVIOUS
thumb-key got stuck somewhere. To get around that, I think you
might want to ask HW Tech Support in UK to see if they know about
this problem.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] SOS: Urgent help required
Dear Listers,
I am in India and need urgent help:
I have a BrailleNote MPower with Keysoft 8.0 built 20. I had
changed the batteries through Humanware UK and the machine just
returned to me a couple of days ago. It looked fine but this
morning as I started the machine it said: "Main Menu" and then I
got 3 options: Speech on, Speech off and Speech on request"
Whatever I did did not help. I even used various reset options
and then I got options to reset clock and the machine stuck at
"date format UK". I kept on pressing keys and I got Indian
standard time but pressing enter did nothing. The keys have not
become dysfunctional as they stil click as I press them. This
appears to be some sort of software issue. Can I do something to
get the machine back without approaching Humanware as it is
frightfully expensive? I would appreciate help on or off list.
Of course, I could provide more information if needed.
Thank you in advance.
