I'm not sure what files are missing, but it's been many years since I used 3.07. You may be able to find the keysoft 3.07 installer on the Humanware site and re-install it.
You can't rut programs on th@a bn not made for it, so I'm not sure what you mean about that. You can, of course, access files on external cards. However, do not reset with cards in (if you reset or the battery dies, remove cards before resetting or powering on). Finally, I've heard that you can take BrailleNotes to Batteries Plus, or other battery stores, and they can replace the batteries for a good price, especially as this unit is long out of warrantee.
